The Eastern Conference champions New Jersey Devils will host games 1 and 2 against the Western Conference champions LA Kings starting on May 30th. This best of 7 series will determine the Stanley Cup winner for the 2011 and 2012 season.
While the LA Kings have a few Stanley Cup champions on their roster, they also have a group that have been on the losing end of the trophy while playing on other teams. This not only shows the quality of players they have playing for them, as even reaching the Stanley Cup finals is an extraordinary accomplishment, but they have a roster that knows how to win, and others on the team that don't want to feel the pain of another loss. You can also toss coach Darryl Sutter into the latter group, as another who does not want to let the cup slip away again.
But New Jersey isn't going to be an easy team to beat. Coming off a great season of 102 points, then showing a strong domination in the playoffs, they are hot and on a roll and just as hungry for the Stanley Cup as the Kings.
This is going to be an east coast vs west coast championship, and will provide hours of hockey fun for us hockey addicts.
