French striker Thierry Henry used the illegal handball, twice, to set up teammate William Gallas for a goal, dashing Ireland's hope of a visit to the World Cup 2010.
Right before the ball went out of bounds, Henry used his hand to guide the ball to his feet, then kicked it over to his teammate, who headed it into the goal.
Pleads from Irish goaltender Shay Given to the referee were ignored, and the goal stands.
Team Ireland is pleading with their government to demand a rematch, but realistically, it won't happen. Unfortunately, bad calls and missed calls by referees are just a part of the game. It's just frustrating when those mistakes are so costly.
