This weeks SGA was a very interesting show. Over the last few weeks, its seems they have been testing the waters to see how fans would react to certain characters going away, getting bigger parts, or in the case of this week- changing "forms" (faces).
First, Woolsey shocked me. He definitely showed he has bravery, which was one of the last things I thought I'd ever see come out of his character. But, they didn't over do it the first time- if you were watching closely you could see him sweating and letting out a heavy "whew" after he told them to sink the city. I hope Woolsey continues to toughen up as time goes on. Do you believe if he does that we will all quit hating him so much? Will he step up and actually lead instead of dictating? I have had a contempt for his character since he was first introduced, but the last two big roles he played, both impressed me. As much as I hate to admit it, I actually feel he is fitting in, even much better than Samantha Carter (sorry, scifi geeks, its true!).
The Weir situation shocked me as well. Through the entire show, I didn't think the Replicator was her. I kept waiting on them to demand more proof and then she would fail and be exposed.
And in the end, maybe it wasn't really her. Only time will tell. I think this storyline, like the Woolsey, was another way to test out the waters to see how people would react to Weir returning, but having a different form. For me, "both" Weirs are knockouts and I'll have my eyes glued to the TV no matter which plays the part. I like them both. Both are beautiful, sexy, and friendly yet strong characters. What else could a red blooded, middle aged, overweight, nerd ask for?
Which brings up my final thought- Is Weir going to return? The second Weir, that is. The ending definitely left a lot open. What are your thoughts? Will Weir return? Would you accept her into the role? For me I say YES, especially after Woolsey changing my opinion of him over the last couple of episodes. If he can do it, Fran can too.
